Welcome to the NEXT BIG THING Blog Hop.
What is a blog hop? Basically, it’s a way for readers to discover authors new to them. I hope you'll find new-to-you authors whose works you enjoy. On this stop on the blog hop, you'll find a bit of information on me and one of my books and links to five other authors you can explore!
My Newest Release
Blood of Luna
My Naughty Vampire Series Book 1
When is it real? When is it fantasy?
For Luna Kalen, the line between reality and a dream is hard to recognize.
Recovering from a car accident, the solitude at the coast is meant to be therapeutic. But Luna soon finds it more than her idle mind can handle.
After exploring a dangerous stretch of shoreline, Luna returns home with a mysterious man she discovers in a cave. Little does Luna know that this man is about to fill her world with sinful pleasures…and blood-thirsty vampires.
When reality and fantasy collide, unimaginable dangers lurk, revelations are revealed, and darkest desires are fulfilled.
But if you think the happily ever after is the sign of the ending, it’s really only the beginning.
Should Luna have listened to the warning?
Do not go into the cave.

In this blog hop, my fellow authors and I, in our respective blogs, have answered ten questions about our current book or work-in-progress (giving you a sneak peek). We've also included some behind-the-scenes information about how and why we write what we write--the characters, inspirations, plotting and other choices we make. I hope you enjoy it!
Please feel free to comment and share your thoughts and questions. Here is my Next Big Thing....a sneak peek into my other WIP for the first half of 2013:

Q&A
with Maya DeLeina
1: What is the working title of your book?
Still TBD. For this story, I'm going to let the book's progress speak to me about what the title should be once I am finished. But, it is the 3rd installment of the Ambrose Heights Vampire Series.
2: Where did the idea come from for the book?
I love staying at secluded cabins in the mountains of Colorado. I usually choose a location that is set deep in the forest terrain or along a creek, lake or pond. On my getaways, I want an escape from the hectic life- no crowds, texts, internet surfing, Facebook and Tweets. I want to be surrounded by nature and the quiet. Of course, I have my laptop since writing inspiration is always at it's peak in these settings.
While enjoying a weekend at one of my favorite cabins last year, I was writing late into the night. I had the patio french doors open so I could feel the crisp autumn air and the warmth of the fire all at once. Then I heard twigs snapping and leaves crunching right outside the door. It was coming from the path in the woods that led to the cabin.
My first thought? BEAR!
I jumped out of my chair, almost knocking over a glass of Cabernet to shut and lock the doors. I sat back down in my chair, looking for something in the darkness. Nothing ever appeared. Well, I was good and freaked out for the rest of the night. It's wonderful for the imagination but hell on the nerves! That's when I came up with this current WIP....my mind couldn't stop with the endless possibilities of what could've showed up as I attempted to close those french doors.
3: What genre does your book come under?
Paranormal Erotic Romance- Vampires
4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Eduardo Verastegui

5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Crave the things that go bump in the night, it's in the silence that will cause you fright.
6: Is your book self-published, published by an independent publisher, or represented by an agency?
Represented by an agency
7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Just started on this one so it is still raw in the development stage. Typically , it takes me 3-4 months to finish a book of this size.
8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Oh, why not! I picked one of my published books. Blood of Luna is the 1st book in My Naughty Vampire series. The reason I picked this book is for the scare factor. Read what a reviewer said:

This was a romance with plenty of twists and turns, a bit of a spooky edge and not to mention lots of steamy scenes that make you want a man like Trevor in your life. The scene with the “rubber” men was quite freaky, I don’t think I have ever found a read that actually unnerved me a little bit as this one did in that scene and to find out what they actually were was quite sad.
The "rubber" men were not only a bit freaky, they were probably one of the more original bad guys I have read about in a book. It does have a bit of a horror edge to it :)

9: Who or what inspired you to write this book?
After the incident in the cabin, I watched this. Okay movie for a slasher tale. The premise was actually great...they just could've done so much more with it. Hence why I put pen to paper with my running imagination.
10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
This book brings back the character Armand Anastasio from Flesh Fantasy. And he's even sexier and evil in this book!
Below you will find authors who will be joining me virtually, via blog, next Wednesday, February 4th. Please be sure to bookmark their sites, and add them to your calendars for updates on their upcoming books! Happy Writing and Reading!
